SAFEGUARDING
The leadership team at St Scuithin's children's choir considers the safety and protection of our children (and volunteers) to be our first priority. Every activity is designed to ensure a secure environment that safeguards the wellbeing of those associated with the choir.
Functioning within a church environment and guided by the Diocese of Ossory, we acknowledge the vital importance of maintaining the dignity and rights of every child. We are dedicated to safeguarding their safety and well-being, and we collaborate closely with parents and guardians to achieve this goal.
We recognise each child is a gift from God, and we value and encourage the participation of children in all activities that enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and social development.
Every member of the Choir is aware of our obligation to safeguard children by promoting their well-being. health, and development within a secure and nurturing environment that prioritises their best interests while preventing any form of abuse. The Parish, the school Choir, and the broader Diocese of Ossory, are dedicated to ensuring a safe atmosphere for adults who may be at risk.

National Safeguarding Standards - Catholic Church
The application of this policy hinges on the adherence to three standards that all Church personnel must implement within their respective areas of responsibility.
These standards embody the level of performance that is anticipated across all facets of the Church.
The Choir leadership team ensures that activities and processes are implemented to ensure the highest standard of care for our members.
